On December 6, 2006, I took my first trip to participate in Art Basel-Miami. "I emerged from the airport into a dusk that had already gathered. Heavy lavender clouds drifted over a lighter blue evening sky. The palm trees stood out, their unmistakable silhouettes against the dramatic backdrop of the sky. The car that took me to my hotel passed beautifully lit buildings that help define Miami as a uniquely colorful city..." What follows is a chronicle of my trip, originally entitled, My First Taste of Basel: An Emerging Artist' s Chronicle of Miami's ArtBasel.
